I’m not sure if you checked out my Peach Cafe post yet, but if you haven’t, I mentioned I only go to brunch for two things: mimosas and french toast. And that is exactly what I ordered alongside “real food” as my boyfriend would put it. So let’s dive in to see what I got and how I liked it, shall we?
We ordered:
The Classic Breakfast includes bacon, sausage, garden spring salad topped with cherry tomatoes, country fried potatoes, toast, and a choice of sunny-side-up eggs or scrambled eggs (we chose a sunny-side-up egg). Overall, this is a good choice if you want a safe option. 10//10
You already know, I had to get the House French Toast. This is a deep-fried toast topped with mixed berries, maple syrup, and condensed milk. Popping Yolk Cafe is neat because they offer two sizes: half portion or full portion. I like that they do this because a lot of times I don’t finish my French Toast and I don’t want to bring it home because I feel like it wouldn’t taste the same reheating it up for leftovers. But I’d give this a 6.5/10. It was good, but I didn’t like how fried the french toast was. I felt too oily after one toast.
The other item we got was the Popping Yolk Hot Chicken Sandwich. This is a new addition to the menu. It’s a hot chicken sandwich that has a sunny side up egg, coleslaw, pickled cucumber, and honey spicy mayo sauce spreaded on the brioche buns. Overall rating, 10/10. I didn’t think I would like the egg in it because I’m not a huge runny egg fan, but it turned out really good. It added a different flavor to what I was expecting.
For drinks we got a Mimosa and the Lychee White Sangria. Mimosa is standard to me 10/10. Lychee White Sangria on the other hand was just okay to me. 8/10, I’m not really into Sangrias but wanted to try it since it was lychee flavored.
Overall rating, 9/10. I would definitely come back here to try other things on the menu.
